We charge into the room, shocking the baddies and leaving them speechless.

They smash Tor in the knee-caps; he smashes them in the face. Thalia pounces with impunity; Sadrax saves Tor from dieing; Skeletons poke Lothar. Gibler dazzles all with his radiant aura.

Something funny happened in the crypt

Extracted lady and baby from pit;
Husband & Father are missing, she requests we try to recover them.
Husband: Veran. Father: Holt

She described their capture: assaulted in the night while laying down to sleep; fainted when they approached the graveyard;

Middle Crypt:
Two corpses: Old male & female; eaten, heavily gnawed upon.
Say a prayer and burned.

Third Crypt:
Emtpy, but for a secret passage in the back.
We throw down a torch, miss shooting him in the face; Roll initiative.

Battle a la garveyard, part deux

We make it to the graveyard after leaving the tavern with one young willing townsperson, armed with pitchfork.

Upon reaching the graveyard, a miserable gloom descends, as last time, and all hope seems as if it died. Somehow, a crawling skeleton almost gets the jump on us, but we smash it within one round as Tor’s War pick lands a critical hit.

No more zombie dogs, thank god for that…. but the three crypts are open, we enter the right one, from which we hear screams of mother and child.

Gibbler peeks in first, hesitantly, finding a skeleton near the front, a skeleton near the back with bow and arrows, and a floating and menacing being. We do battle, focusing around Tor, while Thalia is desperate for action. In the end only a few of the newly formed band are bloody, while the enemies lay slain. We all breathe heavily wondering what the pecking order will be for anything we find…

Morning in Town
This time is different

Morning breaks; we’re safe, the village is safe, there were no further incidents last night.

Apologies made by Maar the Mayor whom fled the battle with undead-wolves. We inform the town of our intents to head back and search the crypts; ask for volunteers.

Some conversation ensues, we recruit a villager to join us:

Albon – Friendly Foolish Villager joins us for a hunt.

In the Graveyard
Glory or Folly

The party heads to the graveyard.

While it’s still daylight, the party heads off to investigate the graveyard and crypts.

Ma’aarr the Headman joins us, we leave shortly after our interview with the survivor. It’s a nice day, the twin suns shine and a cool breeze stirs the trees.

The graveyard is still and dark, the air is still; Some graves are disturbed and opened.

Gibler grudgingly drops into one of the opened graves. Drops down to check out two of the graves, smelly, foul but nothing of note.

While scouting out the rest of the Graveyard, a Skeleton rises from the ground.

On the road
In pursuit of glory and fame

Heading to Calphen;

Smooth talking Luthar reduced our ferry price to 5 Copper each; Shadax felt this was outrageous and intimidated the ferryman to grant us free passage, ‘for the King’s business’
Ferry ride was uneventful.

7 miles along the road, we came upon Calphen. Somber town; we head to the Inn.
Meet eJaxx, request a table and dinner. Lothar asks the Innkeeper if he knows whom has posted the warrant; unknown, eJaxx sends his wife to summon the Headman.

We eat,the food is decent; drinks are warm.

Headman shows up, introduces himself as Ma’aarr; joins the table and tells us the story of the Warrant.
Two villagers disappeared; Few nights later, another disappears from the fields. Following night, the original missing couple returned, staggered up and attacking a local; he escaped and is recovering now. Most recently a family was savagely attacked in the village, we assume all were slaughtered for their home was in great disarray. A blood trail was followed to the fields where villagers discovered many of the formerly deceased, upright and roaming;

History of Calphen: 2000 years ago, Evil Temple, Cultist buried with their possessions; nearby village struck with a plague/illness that wiped out all human inhabitants.

50 years prior the village was founded. Old Crypts and the area around were consecrated as the village Graveyard. All was quiet until those once dead were found walking amongst the living.

A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
